We are proud to offer several different programs to compliment the diversity in your landscape.  Everything we do takes into consideration the natural balance a landscape must have to thrive.

LAWN CARE

Our experienced technicians will evaluate your lawn throughout the year to diagnose problems while taking into account topsoil depth, drainage, and shade patterns to determine the best course of action.   We research the correct formulation of organic fertilizer for the time of year and will only spot spray the weeds present. Currently there are no organic methods available to kill weeds, but our method ensures the absolute minimum amount of herbicide is used. Earthguard does not perform "Weed and Feeds", that are so popular with many of the larger companies.

Our lawn care service typically includes 7 annual visits spaced roughly 6-8 weeks apart and includes:

  • We monitor your entire yard to detect possible problems before they get out of hand.
  • Organic based fertilizer applications
  • Broadleaf weed control (Eco-Friendly spot sprays only)
  • Early spring moss control combined with a liquid fertilizer application.
  • PH adjustments using calcium to lower the acidity in the soil.

Core aeration is also available to loosen up compact soil, while bringing nutrients, water, and oxygen to the root system.  Our aerations include overseeding to fill in any bare or thin spots.

TREE AND SHRUB CARE

Trees and shrubs are an important part of any landscape and can be hard or expensive to replace.  All landscapes need bio-diversity to stay in balance.  A small amount of potential pests must be in your landscape to keep the ecological balance in effect, but sometime the populations of these pests get too high and disrupt this sensitive balance.  Our spray program targets insects and disease with the goal of managing their numbers (not eradicating them) to bring this natural balance back in order.

Our Tree and Shrub Program Includes:

  • Insect and disease monitoring as well as input on plant placement in regards to shade, sun, drought and drainage.
  • Selective spraying for active insect and disease problems
  • Organic seasonal fertilizer applications to the root zone

Specialized sprays and injections for certain pest insects and diseases are also available.  This includes trees too large to reach with traditional spraying methods. Tunneling insects like Cherry Bark Tortrix and Bark Beetles, require special treatment.

BED AND GRAVEL WEED CONTROL

If you've ever spent a hot weekend pulling weeds out of your beds or garden then you know how time and labor intensive it can be.  And the weeds always come back.  We can help.  Our Pre Emergent Weed Control targets the weeds before they get established.  Our Post Emergent Weed Control targets existing weeds as well as any that some how survive the pre emergent.

We time our applications for spring and fall, when the weeds are actively growing.

EXTERNAL PEST CONTROL

Sick of creepy crawlies invading your home?  Tired of pests ruining outdoor events?  Worried about the west nile virus?

Our EPC programs target these pests to make it easier to enjoy your backyard.

  • Mosquito Control uses the safest products available to coat areas that mosquitos use as resting spots.  This includes leaves and the sides of your house.  This makes it difficult for mosquitos to invade garden parties or barbeques.
  • Perimeter and foundation sprays create a invisible barrier around your home to prevent pests from making your home their own.  Effective against spiders, ants,  fleas, ticks, silverfish, centipedes, etc...
  •

Specialized sprays are also available for extreme pests like wasps and massive spider populations.  Typically spiders and wasps are beneficial to your landscape, but if you won't go outside to enjoy it because of them, then they are out of hand.

    WETLAND MITIGATION WORK

We are frequently utilized by the Washington Department of Transportation to control invasive weed species that threaten our wetland sites.  We are licensed and trained in aquatic weed control, and help keep the wetland areas from being invaded by species like blackberry, scotchbroom, and garden loosestrife.
